2nd Vision was started in 2002 to provide an English-language ministry at Detroit Chinese Alliance Church. We see ourselves as a "church within a church," with our own English-language worship service, adult Sunday School, Fellowship Groups, and more. Detroit Chinese Alliance Church also has Mandarin-language and Cantonese-language ministries with worship services, Fellowship Groups, and other programs in those languages. During the Mandarin worship service on Sunday at 11:00am, there is headphone translation in both English and Cantonese. Children aged 18 months and over from all three language congregations attend Sunday School classes together (taught in English). Babies under 18 months may stay with their parents during the English Worship Cafe and Sunday School (we have a sectioned off area with a speaker available during the Worship Cafe). A Chinese lunch may be ordered for $5 before 2nd Vision's Sunday School class; the lunch is delivered at 12:30pm and may be eaten in the Fellowship Hall...yum!
